What is "Sex?"

'Sex' refers to the biological classification of individuals based on a combination of factors, such as chromosomes, hormones, internal reproductive anatomy, and genitalia. Differing from the more known belief of only XX (female) and XY (male) individuals, genetic variations are quite common in humans, leading to intersex individuals. Being 'intersex' means to possess a combination of reproductive organs and / or body parts that males and females possess, putting them into a separate category of identification. Approximately 2% of individuals are intersex; 1 in every 50 people.
